Travelling from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj I saw a roadside board had " EVERY ACCIDENT IS AN ACT OF NEGLIGENCE" written on it.
Particularly when driving on hill roads we have to bed very cautious. 100% attention is required. A fleeing distraction can mean death to all the occupants of the vehicle .
I would advise that no songs shpuld be put on . The drive should be taken up s an in meditation. Your whole concentration should bed upon the job of save driving.
This is the way army people take to tasks. The boards are put up by then.

I have a different perspective on this -- listening to songs might not be bad all, but for the choice of songs. For instance, listening to soft instrumental music may keep your head focussed instead of thinking about, lets say, what happened between you and your boss. In summary, it may help you focus better and hence drive better.
