Skidding Season Ahead.. Deadly Drizzle

The  monsoon season  tests our  skill  and knowledge to  the  full.  Most  of  us  graduate into motorcycle  riding on  our  own  from  bicycle  riding  in  India.

20 years  back  I witnessed  an accident  on  Paver   road  near  Bahram  town.  It  was  a rainy  day .  Two  buses ,  two truck and  a car  had  bumped  into  each other.  The  directions  in  which  the   were  pointing  made  it  very  clear  that  they  had c skidded.  There was  muss  to  on  the  road.  On  enquiry  I found  that  the  drizzle  had  done  the  damage.  After  the  collision  of  a truck   and  two  buses others bumped  into  them  in  trying  to  cross them  by  putting  a set  of  wheels  onto  wet  soil and  then  getting  onto  the  road.

The  slippery  clay  soil was too much for  me  also  to  negotiate on  my  scooter  mig  my  wife  in  the  pillion.

On  discussing  the  matter  with  my wife's auncle  who  was  an ex pilot  of  the  Indian  Air  Force  I came  to  know  that  as  it  starts  training  in    drizzle  the  water  and  spilled engine oil from the  vehicles forms  a thin  layer which  makes  the  vehicles  skid.  While  landing  the   aircraft they  have  to  keep this  thing  in  mind.

So if  all of  a sudden  if it starts  training  in a drizzle we  have  to  allows  down  or better  let  it  rain  for  a few  minutes and  then take  to  the  road .

The  urge  to  get  to  our  destination  in  a hurry  when it has started drizzling puts  us  into  trouble.
